How You Can Help Ukraine Relief Efforts

The conflict in Ukraine is spurring a humanitarian crisis. Since Russia’s invasion on February 24, 2022, more than 500,000 people have fled Ukraine, while others remain in hazardous and uncertain conditions as violence impacts the country’s infrastructure (including access to shelter, food and water, and medical care).

To help refugee and humanitarian efforts related to the war, you can donate to the following organizations:

CARE is providing water, food, hygiene kits, and cash assistance in Ukraine, prioritizing women and girls, families, and the elderly.

Center for Disaster Philanthropy’s Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Recovery Fund will address humanitarian needs that continue to arise as a result of the conflict, particularly among the most vulnerable, marginalized, and at-risk peoples and refugees. It is also in contact with and can regrant to Ukrainian and other international organizations providing support on the ground.

Doctors without Borders provides health care to conflict-affected communities. As of February 25, it has halted its medical activities in Ukraine while the situation evolves, but staff remain in Ukraine and neighboring countries as the organization mobilizes an emergency preparedness response.

GlobalGiving’s Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund will provide shelter, food and water, health and psychosocial support, and economic assistance to displaced Ukrainians in need.

International Medical Corps has expanded its work in Ukraine since the collapse of eastern Ukraine’s health system in 2014. It is working with partners in Ukraine and neighboring countries to provide health, mental health, and gender-based violence support services.

International Rescue Committee is working with humanitarian partners in Poland and Ukraine to provide critical aid to Ukrainian refugees.

Project HOPE is assisting Ukrainians with essential medicines, medical supplies, and health screenings and care for people fleeing the conflict.

World Central Kitchen provides meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises. It is supporting restaurants in Ukraine and providing hot meals at Polish border crossings to refugees, with teams soon to arrive in Romania, Moldova, Slovakia, and Hungary.
